Westport Art Festival
2017 marks the 20th Anniversary of the Westport Art Festival, and we’re celebrating! With great things planned for the entire 4 day weekend of August 18-21, it’s not too early to think about including us in your getaway plans for the year. Make THIS your “Weekend At The Coast”!
•The MAIN event!
2 full days of discovering fine works from more than 80 artists. Enjoy great food and lively music while strolling along the beautiful Westport Marina and the Maritime Museum grounds. Take a break with a local microbrew at the Blackbeard’s Brewery Beer Garden.
•Aug 19, 20 - The 20th Annual Westport Art Festival (opens 10am both days)
"Artisan Alley" (Ongoing during festival) While on the grounds of the Maritime Museum, stop in the meeting hall to see working artists demonstrating their craft. Demonstrations all day, both days: Weaving, Painting on Silk, plus more to be scheduled…
A juried art show and silent auction of works created by artists from all over Washington and Oregon, inspired by the impending Solar Eclipse. Artists will explore themes such as positive-negative space, sun and moon, light and dark - and any other way the eclipse speaks to them. Who knows what they’ll come up with! They’re artists!
Seattle comedian David Crowe will be appearing for a special show at the Chateau Westport. A 20 year veteran of the comedy stage, David has been described as having a "nerdy charisma that is utterly captivating." Don’t miss this very enjoyable evening. Details and ticket info here.
• Aug 21 - Total Eclipse Of The Sun (near-total in Washington)
That’s right! Even the Sun and Moon are gettin’ jiggy with it, dancing in celebration of our 20th Anniversary! Monday morning will see the first total eclipse viewable on the entire US mainland in 25 years. So stay an extra day here in Westport, and watch the early morning event on the beach before heading home. What a great way to cap off a wonderful weekend.
